A few hours ago, I went to bed right after midnight and a nightmare woke me up at around 5:00 AM. Just now, I updated my Facebook status saying, "Still a bit scared after my #nightmare and couldn't bring myself to go back to sleep. Haha! #scaredycat But I think a #ghost visited me during my sleep." So now, let me tell you why I think this is.
Have you ever played Jackstones before? If not, then you've missed out big time on your childhood. I Googled it to give you guys a brief explanation.
"jackstones - a game in which jackstones are thrown and picked up
in various groups between bounces of a small rubber ball"

Here are 2 example photos of this fun-tastic game so you get the idea:

And so to continue on, I have this small "jackstones" rubber ball in my condo. I would just leave it on the floor for several days in a place where I can usually see it. One time it's a few spaces in front of the door of the next room, and just recently it was a few feet away from my bathroom door. But the thing is, I know it's there because I did it. I intentionally left it there for a reason. And so, the ball had been there for 3 days, near the bathroom door, well not until I went out of my room this morning.
After waking up, I spent a few minutes with my eyes open and grabbed my phone to briefly go online...perhaps to confirm that I'm back in the real world, and also to check the time. My first thought was, "OMG! That was such a scary dream! Why am I up at this time? It must be 3:00 AM." 3:00 AM, you know, the time which some people refer to as the dark hour, the bewitching hour, or the time when ghosts are the most active at night. But no, upon checking my phone, it was already after 5:00 AM. So no, it must not be true at all.
After several minutes of trying to settle my nerves and recollecting what my dream was about, I felt the need to go the bathroom to take a leak. I thought against it at first, 'coz I was still a bit shaken up from my dream/nightmare. But then I thought, what the heck...it wasn't real and I needed to go.
So upon opening my bedroom door, I quickly and briefly scanned my living room floor leading to the bathroom. I was momentarily shocked to see, or rather not seeing, that my small, yellow ball was not in its usual place. I distinctly remember checking on it last night right before I closed my bedroom door to go to sleep. I then went around my condo searching for it. Well, it's a small space so I was able to do it in a few minutes. I even bravely checked the usually empty room next to my bedroom. It was nowhere to be found. And then I thought came to me that "someone" must have accidentally kicked it while walking around the room or perhaps played with it.
Standing at the center of room, thinking over where my ball could have gone to, I got thirsty. So I went to get myself some water to drink. I opened my refrigerator and poured myself a glass. While drinking, I was still thinking about the ball. It was puzzling really. If ghosts truly don't exist and one didn't come to visit me last night, how could it just disappear? Will I still be able to see it again? Then I looked down and I saw it. Wedged between the back of the refrigerator and my shoes, as it's near the front door and I would usually take my shoes off and leave it beside the refrigerator, is my tiny, yellow ball with the red and white "splash paint" design.
So how did it get there? It's a mystery that I have yet to resolve.
My yellow, "jackstones" rubber ball
I hope this doesn't happen again soon as I live alone and still got a few more days to spend in the condo before I leave the country. SIGH! I am not sure when I can go back to sleep today but I hope to do it soon, as I am feeling some dizziness and now getting a bit of an headache from getting only a few hours of sleep.
What started out as a nice, "errotic" dream turned out to be a nightmare. What's funny though was that the ghost child in my dream looked like Aling Maliit as said on my Facebook status:
"Shet. Bad dream! #ghost #smallchild Tapos kamukha pa ni
#RyzzaMaeDizon with the fat body, fringe and all! Ugh!".
